Dwarf Earthstar
Description
Fruit-body closed globose, with 6-9 rays, Ø 2-4 cm. Lower surface of the rays pale brown, with attached soil. Inner surface light cream with pink tinge to pale brown. Sphere Ø 6-11 mm, with clearly demarcated short stem, with a ring-shaped furrow around the broad to high conical, strongly pleated furrowed opening, mealy to smooth, light grey to light brown or light grey -brown or dingy brown.
Occurrence
On dune sand deficient in humus in unmanured dune pastures, dune heaths, dunes covered with beach grass and open dune scrub.
