Description
Fruit-body closed onion- to bottle-shaped, with 6-10 slender, long pointed rays, Ø 3-6 cm. Lower surface of the rays smooth, blotched yellow-brown to light dingy brown. Inner surface whitish or buff to brownish. Sphere Ø 10-16 mm, stem absent, with a furrowed areola around the high, conical, ciliate opening, very finely felted, light brown cream.

Occurrence
On humus-rich, sandy or loamy soils in old broad-leaved woods (Robinia).
Saprophyte.
