Description
Fruit-body irregularly dome- shaped to bulbous, Ø 2-8 cm, partly above the surface. Outer surface covered with sparse, branched, brown mycelium strands, dingy white to dingy yellow or brownish. Flesh with irregular, close cavities, white, deliquescing olive-green. Smell unpleasant garlicky.
Occurrence
In Fir woods on dry, acid sandy soil.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
