Hypoxylon serpens

Description
Fruit-body irregularly winding, flattened crust-like, Ø 1-2 x 2-4 cm, black, evenly covered with papillae. Stroma pale when young.

Occurrence
On thick debarked branches and trunks of broad-leaved trees.
Saprophyte.
