Pink Crown
Description
Fruit-body vesicular and closed when young, sunk in the soil, opening spherical to beaker-shaped, with stellar fraying margin, Ø 3-20 cm. Inner surface pale violet when young, turning violet to brown-violet, smooth. Outer surface whitish to grey-white. Flesh white.
Poisonous.
Occurrence
In groups among litter in broad-leaved and coniferous woods, in parks, road verges and on chalk in (sub)alpine zones. May to June.
