Purple Bonfire Cup
Description
Fruit-body beaker shaped, Ø 2-4 cm. Inner surface purple to violet-brown or brown-lilac. Outer surface with yellow-brown flakes at the margin, pale grey-violet to yellow-brown, white-felted at the base. Flesh yielding watery milk.
Occurrence
On fire sites in broad-leaved and coniferous woods, occasionally on sand rich in minerals and deficient in humus.
