Description
Fruit-body beaker- to saucer-shaped, Ø 3-10 cm. Inner surface red-brown to dark olive-brown. Outer surface red-brown to dark chestnut brown, clayey. Flesh brownish, yielding watery milk.

Occurrence
Often in dense clusters among leaf and needle litter or on bare, sandy or loamy soil. June to autumn.
Saprophyte.
