Description
Fruit-body cup-shaped, Ø 2-4 cm, developing party below ground. Stellate, opening with 4 to 6 lobes. Emerging only partly from the sand. Inner surface dark yellow-brown to date-brown. Outer surface pale grey-brown, covered with sand, rooting with a fragile mycelium strand.
Occurrence
On (rotting) roots of Marram Grass (Ammophila arenaria) in outer coastal sand dunes.
Saprophyte.
