Otidea alutacea

Description
Fruit-body irregularly undulate, bowl-shaped, split on one side, Ø 3-5 cm. Inner surface dark loam-coloured to grey-brown or yellow-brown. Outer surface clayey-floccose, dingy ochrous yellow to pale yellow-brown. Flesh yellowish.

Occurrence
Among litter on sand, loam or clay deficient in humus to humus-rich, in broad-leaved woods.
Possibly forming ectomycorrhiza.
