Description
Fruit-body deep beaker- to flattened saucer-shaped, Ø 5-18 cm, on short, rooting stem. Inner surface strongly radially veined and wrinkled at the centre. Margin more pale, strongly undulated and curved. Lower surface felted, grey-white to yellow brown. Flesh pale. Smell of bleach.

Occurrence
Locally occasionally in large numbers on bare or moss-covered, rich loam or clay in broad-leaved woods and on poor roadsides. March to May.
