Description
Fruit-body cup- to saucer-shaped, often remaining deeply sunk into the soil, Ø 1-2 cm. Inner surface bluish grey to pale yellow-brown. Outer surface hairy, covered with grains of sand, with incised or torn margin, yellow-brown to brown. Flesh whitish.

Occurrence
On sand deficient in humus. Spring to autumn.
Saprophyte.
