Description
Fruit-body 1-8 cm. Cap Ø 2-5 cm, bowl- or saucer-shaped to somewhat saddle-shaped. Inner surface grey or yellowish grey-brown to dark brown. Lower surface smooth, densely covered with rough hairs in cone-shaped tufts, ashen-grey or yellow-grey to grey with brownish-yellow tinge.
Stem stuffed, straight or curved, densely covered in fairly rough hairs, with longitudinal grooves and dents, ashen-grey or yellow grey to grey with brownish yellow tinge, 0.6-8 cm x 1-5 mm.
Occurrence
Often in groups in broad-leaved woods (Beech and Oak) on humus-rich sand and loam. Spring to autumn.
