Description
Fruit-body 8-15 cm. Cap 4-7 cm, irregularly undulated saddle-shaped, 3- to 4-lobed. Upper surface grey to grey-brown or deep grey. Margin occasionally attached to the stem; lower surface light grey.
Stem hollow, longitudinally deeply grooved and ribbed, light grey to grey-brown, often whitish at the base, 4-10 x 1-3 cm.
Poisonous.

Occurrence
In woods on humus-rich sand, loam and clay. Summer to autumn.
