Description
Less than 1cm: Use magnifying glass.
Fruit-body closed, bladder-like when young, opening star-like and becoming irregularly cup- to saucer-shaped, Ø 0.5-1.5-cm. Inner surface cinnamon- to dark-brown. Outer surface clayey-floccose, pale brown.

Occurrence
In dense clusters on dead, attached and fallen branches of Hazel and Alder. December to March.
Saprophyte.
