Description
Fruit-body brain-like convoluted spherical, Ø 2-5 cm. Outer surface matt when dry, shiny when damp, pink to violet-brown. Flesh gelatinous, tough and pink.

Occurrence
On thick branches and fallen trunks of Beech, Ash and Alder on damp, rich soil in broad-leaved woods. Summer to autumn.
Saprophyte.
