Purple Jelly Drops
Description
Fruit-body top- to disc-shaped, Ø 0.5-2 cm. Inner surface flesh-pink to violet-pink. Outer surface dry finely white-clayey, violet-pink. More often found in the shiny, purple to purple-brown, capitate to cushion-shaped, imperfect stage (Pirobasidium sarcoides).
Occurrence
On dead wood of broad-leaved and coniferous trees.
Saprophyte.
