Description
Fruit-body club-shaped, 3-6 cm high. Upper part widening to 5 mm, greasy-glutinous, shiny black.
Stem greasy-glutinous, shiny black, 2-4 cm x 2-3 mm.
Occurrence
On dry sand in unmanured or sparsely manured grasslands and roadsides, in damp sand valleys and on rich clay in broad-leaved woods.
Saprophyte.
