Diatrype stigma

Description
Fruit-body crust-shaped, Ø from a few centimetres to several decimetres, spreads under the bark and casts off the bark. Upper surface rough, evenly covered with papillae, with a pattern of longitudinal and transverse cracks, black.
Stroma creamy white.

Occurrence
On thick branches and trunks of broad-leaved trees (Beech).
Saprophyte.
