Quivering Spine Fungus
(Jelly Spine-fungus, Jelly Tongue, or Jelly Tooth)
Description
Fruit-body laterally attached, tongue- or fan-shaped, Ø 2-6 cm. Upper surface finely granular-downy, white-grey to blue-grey or green-grey or brownish. Lower surface with whitish to yellowish spines. Spines pointed, 3-5 mm. Flesh translucent, gelatinous.
Edible.
Occurrence
Fairly common on well decayed stumps and trunks of coniferous trees on poor sandy soil.
