Exidia truncata

Description
Fruit-body top-shaped to knob-like, Ø 1-6 cm. Upper surface matt to shiny, black to brown-black. Lower surface with obtuse spines (stubble), matt, black to brown-black. Flesh gelatinous, tough.

Occurrence
Common on branches and trunks of deciduous trees, favouring Oak.
Saprophyte.
