Stereum subtomentosum

Description
Fruit-body leathery crust-like, with strongly protruding, fan-shaped, undulate brackets, Ø 3-7 cm. Upper surface of the brackets hairy-felted, concentrically zoned, brown-orange or grey-orange to ochre-yellow, often green due to algal growth, with whitish growth zone. Lower surface smooth, yellow to grey-yellow or ochrous, turning bright yellow when damaged.
Spore-print colour white.

Occurrence
Fairly common on branches and trunks of deciduous trees (Alder, Willow).
Saprophyte.
