Yellow Stereum

Description
Fruit-body leathery crust-like, with brackets protruding up to 2 cm, 3-10 x 1-4 cm. Upper surface of the brackets hairy, zoned, ochre to brown, with pale margin, often green due to algal growth. Lower surface smooth, bright yellow to dull brown or grey-yellow.
Spore-print colour white.

Occurrence
Common on wood of deciduous trees, especially on piles of wood or firewood.
Saprophyte.
