Description
Less than 1cm: Use magnifying glass.
Fruit-body thin, leathery crust-like with ciliate margin, Ø 3-6 cm. Upper surface veined, warty, spiny, grey-red or grey-violet to flesh-brown. Mycelium strands white to grey-reddish. Spines warty, obtuse, 1 mm.
Spore-print colour white.

Occurrence
On sprawling branches of deciduous trees in damp woods with rich soil.
Saprophyte.
