Ochre-green Coral Fungus
Description
Fruit-body growing from a common base, repeatedly branched, coral-shaped, with ends branched once or repeatedly, 3-6 cm high. Branches 2-5 mm thick, round to flattened, ochre- to olive-yellow, the pointed tips in particular turning green-blue when touched and with age.
Stem 3-14 mm thick, olive-yellow, with white mycelium strands. Flesh tough, white.
Occurrence
Fairly common on litter of coniferous trees (Spruce), occasionally of deciduous trees (Hawthorn, Salix repens).
Saprophyte.
