Pterula multifida

Description
Fruit-body repeatedly branched, hairy-bristly, 3-8 cm high. Branches 1 mm thick, repeatedly forked-branched, with pointed tips, ochre-brown to lilac-brown, with whitish ends.
Stem short, ochre-brown to lilac-brown. Flesh elastic, whitish.

Occurrence
On litter of coniferous trees, occasionally on humus of deciduous trees (Willow, Poplar). Often in groups.
Saprophyte.

Related and/or similar species
- Pterula gracilis - much smaller, on dead plant stems.
