Description
Less than 1cm: Use magnifying glass.
Fruit-body annual, (flattened) funnel-shaped with central stem. Cap Ø 1-4 cm. Upper surface occasionally concentrically zoned, velvety to finely scaly, olive-brown or grey-brown to yellow-brown, with acute, strongly ciliate margin.
Tubes 1-2 mm long, white. Pores 5-6 per mm, circular, white.
Stem 2-3 cm x 1-3 mm, felted, matt, brown to brown and yellow-brown dotted zones.
Spore-print colour white.
Occurrence
On fallen branches (Alder). Summer.

Fruit-body annual, (flattened) funnel-shaped with centrally attached stem. Cap Ø 4-8 cm. Upper surface occasionally concentrically zoned, velvety to finely scaly, olive-brown or grey-brown to yellowish or yellow-brown, with acute, faintly ciliate to not-ciliate, incurved margin.
Tubes 1-3 mm long, somewhat decurrent, white. Pores 5-6 per mm, circular, white.
Stem 2-5 cm x 5-12 mm, felted, matt, with brown and yellow-brown dotted zones, with pale, swollen base.
Spore-print colour white.
Occurrence
Common on branches, trunks and stumps of deciduous trees (Alder, Willow, Birch, Beech, Oak). Spring.
