White Cheese Polypore


Description
Fruit-body annual, with several bracket-like to fan-shaped caps on a soft, porous crust. Cap 2-6 x 2-3 cm, 5-10 mm thick. Upper surface not zoned to faintly zoned, finely felted, yellow-ochre to orange-brown, with white margin.
Tubes 2-5 mm long, white. Pores 2-4 per mm, angular to maze-like, white. Flesh fibrous, elastic, white.
Spore-print colour white.

Occurrence
On trunks and branches of coniferous trees.
Saprophyte.
