Description
Fruit-body annual, semicircular fan-shaped to bracket-like. Cap 2-6 x 1-4 cm, 1-2 cm thick. Upper surface hairy, white, later blue-grey to brownish, with acute white margin.
Tubes 1-5 mm long, white. Pores 4-5 per mm, circular to angular, white to grey. Flesh fibrous, white.
Spore-print colour white.

Occurrence
Common on trunks, stumps and branches of coniferous trees.
Saprophyte.

Related and/or similar species
- Oligoporus subcaesius, smaller and especially on wood of deciduous trees.
