Description
Fruit-body elastic, crust-like, with margins protruding up to 5 cm, forming strips up to several decimetres in length. Upper surface of the flexible, semicircular brackets hairy-felted, white. Lower surface pleated-veined, forming a porous net, yellow or orange to salmon, later dark orange, with a silky, hairy, pleated-furrowed, pale white margin.
Spore-print colour white.

Occurrence
Common on strongly decayed stumps and on the underside of fallen trunks of deciduous trees, favouring Birch.
Saprophyte.
