Phellinus contiguus

Description
Fruit-body perennial, flattened, cushion-shaped, Ø a few centimetres to some decimetres, corky tough, pale brown to reddish brown, young with a felty, yellowish margin. Tubes 0,5-2 cm, rusty-brown. Pores circular to angular, dentate at the margin, 2-3 per mm, brightly rusty-brown.
Spore-print colour yellow-brown.

Occurrence
On branches or (worked) construction wood of broad-leaved trees in woods on rich soil or in the built environment.
Saprophyte.
