Inonotus hastifer

Description
Fruit-body annual, flat, thin, cushion-shaped, Ø several centimetres to decimetres, 0,5 cm thick, with a distinct, acute, pale ochre margin, elastic tough to brittle hard, young pale greyish brown, then cinnamon- to red-brown. Tubes 1-3 mm. Pores circular to angular, sometimes more elongated, 3-4 per mm.
Spore-print colour pale yellow.

Occurrence
On branches and trunks of broad-leaved trees (Beech).
Parasitic/saprophyte.
