Description
Fruit-body annual, cushion-shaped to bracket-like, imbricate on a common, porous base, 2-3 x 1-3 cm. Upper surface irregularly undulate, felted, orange-yellow to dark brown, with pale margin.
Tubes 5-6 mm long, cream to brown. Pores 3-4 per mm, circular, cream with silvery sheen to ochre-brown.
Spore-print colour pale yellow.
Occurrence
On rotted saw cuts and wounds on the trunks of living and dead Beech.
Parasitic. (Saprophyte).
