Coltricia confluens

Description
Fruit-body top-shaped to flattened funnel-shaped, with stem, usually with caps fused into plaques, on several stems, up to 5 cm high. Cap Ø 4-6 cm, fused up to Ø 15 cm, not or only very slightly zoned, finely velvety to smooth, red-brown to rusty brown to ochre-grey.
Tubes 2-3 mm long, decurrent, brown. Pores 2-3 per mm, irregularly angular, cinnamon.
Stem 1-3 cm x 2-4 mm, velvety, rusty brown to dark brown.
Spore-print colour ochre-brown.

Occurrence
On coarse leaf litter and wood chips in parks and scrub with young trees and shrubberies.
Saprophyte.
