Coniophora arida

Description
Fruit-body felted, crust-like, Ø up to a few centimetres. Upper surface warty-felted, ochrous brown to olive-brown, with an irregular white-fibrous margin.
Spore-print colour light brown. In the wood, the wet form of brown rot is visible.

Occurrence
Not uncommon on wood of coniferous trees, occasionally on wood of deciduous trees.
Saprophyte.
