Typhula erythropus

Description
Less than 1cm: Use magnifying glass.
Fruit-body stemmed, club-shaped, 1-3 cm high. Upper quarter to half cylindrical, 0.5-1 mm thick, with round top, smooth, white.
Stem filiform, 0.1-0.3 mm thick, finely hairy, red-brown, with an oval, red-brown sclerotium at the dark base.

Occurrence
Common on leaf stems and twigs of deciduous trees and occasionally on the stems of grass, ferns and stinging nettles.
Saprophyte.
