Description
Fruit-body slender to broad club-shaped, 10-20 x 2-6 cm, with rounded apex. Outer surface longitudinally wrinkled, matt, light yellow to orange-brown or brown-yellow, occasionally cinnamon with lilac tinge, darker at the tapering base. Flesh soft, white, turning violet-brown when cut. Smell faint, pleasant.
Edible.

Occurrence
On litter or wood chips in deciduous woods and parks on calcareous soils.
Saprophyte.
