Ashen Chanterelle
Description
Fruit-body naveled, funnel-shaped. Cap Ø 1-6 cm, flesh thin, funnel-shaped, the centre naveled and pierced, surface felty to radially fibrous, greyish brown to brown-black. Lower surface with distant, gill-like ridges, grey.
Stem 2-6 x 0,5-1 cm, hollow, greyish brown to brown-black. Flesh thin, elastic, pale beige-grey.
Taste mild. Smell aromatic sweet.
Spore-print colour whitish.
Occurrence
In broad-leaved woods on calcareous soil.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
