Cantharellus amethysteus

Description
Fruit-body flattened, funnel-shaped. Cap Ø 3-10 cm, flat, with incurved, undulate margin, pale to deep egg-yellow, with a lilac tinge and especially towards the margin with lilac scales. Lower surface with irregularly forked, decurrent, vein-like ridges, pale yellow.
Stem 3-8 x 1-2 cm, with tapering base, pale yellow with a lilac tinge. Flesh fibrous, pale yellow.
Taste watery-peppery. Smell pleasant.
Spore-print colour ochre.

Occurrence
Especially near oaks in broad-leaved and coniferous woods on poor soil.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
