Dusky Bolete
Description
Cap hemispherical to convex, Ø 4-12 cm, matt, felty, grey- or olive-brown to brown-black, old often with cracks.
Tubes pale yellow-grey, then greyish brown. Pores dark grey-brown to olivaceous brown, colouring greenish on bruising.
Stem 6-7 x 2-3 cm, matt, velvety, dark olive-brown, paler at the base. Flesh whitish-yellowish, decolouring greenish on bruising.
Taste mildly sour.
Spore-print colour red-brown.
Occurrence
With broad-leaved and coniferous trees in woods on acid soil.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
