Description
Cap convex to flattened funnel-shaped, Ø 3-6 cm, sticky, pink-red to coral red or brick-red.
Gills greyish to mouse-grey.
Stem 3-6 cm x 10-15 mm, whitish, with pink to wine-red or brownish tints, a white, slimy ring zone, coloured black by spores, and a tapering base.
Flesh dingy white with pink tinge. Taste none. Smell none.

Occurrence
Not uncommon near Fir, partially parasitic on mycelium of Suillus bovinus (785.jpg), in coniferous woods on dry, poor sandy soil with little litter.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
Parasitic.
