Description
Cap convex to flattened funnel-shaped, Ø 5-12 cm, slimy, greyish violet-brown.
Gills pale to grey-brown..
Stem 3-10 x 1-2 cm, slimy, whitish, whitish to light grey-brown below the slimy, blackening ring zone, lemon-yellow at the base. Flesh whitish, with wine-red or lemon-yellow tinge. Taste none. Smell none.
Edible.

Occurrence
Near coniferous trees in coniferous woods on poor, slightly acid sandy soil with little needle litter. Possibly also a parasite on the mycelium of Suillus and Rhizopogon species. (383.jpg).
Forming ectomycorrhiza. Parasitic?
