Granulated Boletus
Description
Cap convex, Ø 3-9 cm, sticky, shiny, rusty brown to yellowish.
Tubes ale yellow to yellow-brown. Pores small, pale yellow to yellow-brown, with pale milky droplets.
Stem lemon-yellow, with white or pale yellow granules exuding watery liquid at the apex, wine-red to brown-red tinge at the base. Flesh lemon-yellow. Taste faint, pleasant. Smell faint, pleasant.
Spore-print colour ochrous yellow-brown.
Suspect.
Occurrence
Not uncommon near Fir in young Fir forests on dry sandy soil with little litter.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
