Description
Cap hemispherical to convex, 6-14 cm, matt, yellowish grey-brown to olive, with rusty brown tints, bruising dark brown to blue-black.
Tubes yellowish green, turning blue when damaged. Pores small, orange-red to yellow, turning dark blue on bruising.
Stem 8-14 x 1-3 cm, yellowish, with an orange-red net, bruising blue. Flesh lemon-yellow, green-blue to dark blue on bruising. Taste none. Smell faint.
Spore-print colour olive-brown.
Poisonous.

Occurrence
Not uncommon near deciduous trees (Oak, beech, lime), particularly in avenues and roadsides with old trees, occasionally in parks and woodland. Summer to autumn.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
