Description
Cap convex with umbo to irregularly expanded, Ø 3-8 cm, downy-felted to scaly, ochrous brown or orange-brown to rusty brown or dark brown, whitish velar remnants at the margin.
Tubes short, yellowish to olive. Pores wide, angular, yellowish to olive.
Stem 4-8 x 1-2 cm, hollow, lemon-yellow at the apex with faint net, yellow-brown below th floccose, white ring, with brownish fibrils. Flesh whitish, yellowish. Taste pleasant.
Spore-print colour olive-brown.

Occurrence
Near Larch in medium-old to old coniferous and mixed woods on acid, poor sandy or loamy soils.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
