Rosy Brittle Gill
Description
Cap convex to plane with depressed centre, Ø 6-7 cm, dry, matt, pink-red to red.
Gills partially forked, white to light yellow.
Stem 5-6 cm x 10-15 mm, floccose, white, occasionally with pink nap. Flesh white. Taste bitter. Smell of Cedar.
Spore-print colour whitish cream.
Occurrence
Near deciduous trees (Oak, Birch) on calcareous sand and clay.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
