Purple-bloom Brittle Gill


Description
Cap convex to plane, Ø 3-6 cm, matt, red to pink-red.
Gills adnexed, white with greenish tinge to cream.
Stem 3-5 cm x 10-15 mm, white. Flesh white. Taste pungent. Smell of coconut when young.

Occurrence
Fairly common near beech in avenues and woods on sand and loamy soil.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
