Description
Cap convex to flattened funnel-shaped, Ø 4-12 cm, pale salmon-yellow to pale pink-orange, with dark blotches and an incurved, hairy-fibrous margin.
Gills slightly decurrent, pale flesh to salmon.
Stem 4-8 x 1-2 cm, finely downy, pale flesh-orange. Flesh white, milk white. Taste pungent, acrid.
Spore-print colour yellowish cream.
Occurrence
Fairly common near Birch.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
