Description
Cap convex to flattened funnel-shaped, Ø 5-10 cm, pruinose, pale to dingy orange, occasionally with wine red tinge, turning initially intense green, subsequently paling.
Gills orange with pink tinge, staining wine red.
Stem 5-7 x 1 cm, pale orange, turning green. Flesh orange, turning wine-red, later turning green, milk carrot-coloured to blood-red. Taste mild.
Spore-print colour pale ochre.
Edible.

Occurrence
Near Fir on moderately calcareous or rich sand or loam.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
