Description
Cap convex to shallowly funnel-shaped, Ø 3-10 cm, pale flesh to orange-brown, occasionally turning greenish, with incurved margin.
Gills close, slightly decurrent, pale orange to yellow, turning green when damaged.
Stem 3-6 cm x 15-20 mm, pale yellow-brown or wine-red to orange or pink, occasionally with depressed blotches turning green. Flesh pale yellow to faded grey-green, milk orange. Taste mild.
Spore-print colour pale ochre.
Edible.

Occurrence
Not uncommon near Fir trees on poor sand.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
