Yellow-brown Knight Cap
Description
Cap irregularly convex to expanded with umbo, Ø 4-8 cm, yellow-brown to red-brown, with yellow-brown margin.
Gills yellowish, staining brown.
Stem 3-7 cm x 8-15 mm, fibrous, yellow-brown to red-brown. Flesh whitish to yellow. Smell flour-like.
Suspect.
Occurrence
Fairly common near Birch and Oak in deciduous and mixed woods and poor roadsides.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
